World renowned designer Christian Lacroix teamed up with Thailand’s top designers to create one of Bangkok’s first urban hotels with infinity pools. The Five Elements: Water, Earth, Wood, Metal and Fire, are tastefully blending into a harmonious haven of prestige and serenity.
We’re perfectly perched right at the edge of Bangkok’s biggest green space, lush Lumpini Park. The hotel’s 30 stories are ideally situated to provide panoramic vistas of both the city skyline and the park. This shimmering luxury pool gives the illusion of swimming in mid-air as you take in the park and city skyline. Revel in the pool’s underwater music as you take in its full 32 meters for some morning laps. Then bathe your skin in the tropical sun at the solarium with peaceful views of Lumpini park 10 floors below.

Thailand’s capital is one of the great cities of the world, enchanting and unforgettable. The colorful floating markets, luxury boutiques and exquisite cuisine make a Bangkok tour during your stay at SO/Bangkok a must.
Ancient temples stand side by side with futuristic skyscrapers. World-famous street food intermingles with Michelin-starred gourmet restaurants. Bangkok is a mélange of contrasts that stimulates all the senses. A good place to start your Bangkok tour is at the Chao Praya River. Sprawling Bangkok spreads out along this meandering river, so hop on a boat to enjoy your first impressions of this exotic city.
Start your Bangkok tour by heading to the Chao Phraya River on the BTS Skytrain from Sala Daeng. The Skytrain’s Silom Line will take you right to Saphan Taksin on the river’s edge. Private charter long-tail boats are always on hand, or you can take the very cheap public Chao Phraya Express Boats. The Express Boats all have their own piers with helpful information boards and ticket staff.
From Saphan Taksin the Chao Phraya Express Boat goes only one direction, up river, so that’s easy. Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn with its shimmering spire 79 meters high is on the Thonburi side of the river from Tha Chang pier (pier N9). A small ferry crosses the river here if you disembark at Tha Chang pier.
Next stop on your Bangkok tour is the Grand Palace, a 5 minute walk from pier N9. Gleaming, gilded and magnificent, the former royal residence is the one sight in Bangkok you absolutely don’t want to miss.
Located within the Grand Palace is the historically important Wat Phra Kaew, the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. It’s better known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which sits atop an elegant gold altar in the temple.
A short walk south from Wat Phra Kaew takes you to Wat Pho. The Temple of the Reclining Buddha (the city’s largest!) is also its most famous Thai massage school (and the oldest).
Last on your Bangkok tour today is Bangkok’s Chinatown, the largest Chinatown in the world with world-famous street food and renowned temples. From the Flower Market you can take the underground MRT at Prince Edward Station to the Hua Lamphong stop. Take exit one and you will be a short walk to Wat Traimit, one of Chinatown’s most famous sights. The jaunt back to SO/Bangkok is a snap, the MRT will drop you right across the street at Lumpini Station.
Of course, you can also travel in sumptuous style with the limousine fleet of SO/ Bangkok, available 24 hours a day. Enjoy a complimentary cold drink or coffee and leave the driving to us.
